Photobiomodulation and eccentric exercise for Achilles tendinopathy: a randomized controlled trial

Double blind randomized controlled trial  of patients who had Achilles tendinopathy (AT) for at least 3 months. Two different exercise regimes were compared, with and without the addition of photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy. Study conclusions were that twice daily exercise sessions were not necessary; equivalent results were obtained with two exercise sessions per week. Benefit was observed with the addition of PBM. Final VISA-A scores with 2 exercise sessions/week and PBM therapy were 99 out of 100.
